Basic Breakfast Casserole
This breakfast casserole is anything but basic. It is more like a base for endless possibilities and combinations. Start with this basic recipe and add extras each time you make it for a different casserole every time.

1 large bowl
1 whisk
1 Large spoon

1 casserole dish
1 toothpick
- 6-8 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup half-and-half or heavy cream
- 1/2 lb. Italian sausage, spicy or mild
- 1 green onion, chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3/4 tsp. pepper
In a large bowl, whisk the eggs until fluffy.
Add the half and half or cream. Italian sausage, green onion, red bell pepper, salt and pepper. Stir until combined.
At this point, you can add any other ingredients you want, such as onion, cheese, bacon, etc. The sky is the limit on what you add to personalize the casserole to your own tastes.
Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the middle is set.
