Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Place the broccoli in a microwave-safe dish with1 tablespoon of water.
Microwave for two minutes.
Stir and cook for another minute.
Drain the broccoli and set aside.
Cook the bacon until crisp. Drain and pat dry.
Saute garlic and onion in butter for three minutes or untilsoft.
Add the Italian seasoning and stir to combine.
In a large measuring cup, whisk together the cornstarch, sherry and cream.
Add the parsley, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes and garlicpowder. Stir to combine.
Add to the vegetables and stir until thickened.
Add the broccoli and bacon. Stir gently to coat and combine.
Pour into a greased baking dish.
Top with cheese, more bacon and almonds.
Bake for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and thealmonds are slightly browned.
