Classic Cashew Beef Stir Fry

Any stir fry comes together quickly if everything is ready to go. Stir fries come in so many varieties, but this Classic Cashew Beef Stir Fry is always a favorite.

Equipment

  • 1 measuring cup
  • Measuring spoons
  • 1 knife
  • 1 cutting board
  • 1 Small bowl
  • 1 medium spoon
  • 1 wok, large skillet or large pot
  • 1 Large spoon

Ingredients
  

  • 4 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1-1/2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. sesame oil
  • 1 tsp. oyster sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
  • Dash of cayenne
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1/4 tsp. 5 spice powder
  • Dash black pepper
  • 1 small chuck roast, cubed
  • 2 tsp. garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp. ginger paste or grated fresh ginger
  • Pinch red pepper flakes
  • 2 cups cashews
  • 1 small head broccoli, cut in florets
  • 1 8 oz. bag bag snap peas (optional

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, combine cornstarch, soy sauce, sesame oil, oyster sauce, ground ginger, cayenne, cold water, 5 spice powder and pepper.
  • In a wok or large skillet, stir-fry the beef in oil until brown. Remove and keep warm.
  • Add the garlic, ginger paste, red pepper flakes and cashews to the wok. Stir fry for one minute.
  • Add oyster sauce and water. Stir.
  • Add broccoli and sugar snap peas. Cover and cook for three minutes.
  • Add the sauce and stir until thickened.
  • Return the beef to the wok and cook until hot.
  • Serve over cauliflower rice or regular rice.
