Low-Carb Beef Tostadas

Cripsy low-carb tortillas are topped with flavorful beef and topped with fresh veggies and cheese. Drizzled with a Mexican crema sauce, this is a hearty and satisfying meal for lunch or dinner that will become a staple at your house.

  • 1 large baking sheet
  • 1 Large spoon
  • 1 Small bowl

Ingredients
  

  • 4 llow-carb tortillas er
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp. garlic, minced
  • 1 packet 1 packet taco seasoning mix or 2 Tbsp. homemade taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • Toppings: lettuce, tomato, sour cream, black olives, green onion, guacamole
  • For the Crema:
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 Tbsp. heavy cream
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder

Instructions
 

  • Fry the tortillas in a little bit of oil until both sides are crispy. Drain on a paper towel-lined baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl, mix the ingredients for the crema until combined and smooth.
  • In a skillet, brown the ground beef with onion and garlic.
  • Add salsa, water and taco seasoning.
  • Cook until liquid is absorbed.
  • Spread the meat mixture over the crispy tortilla and top with shredded lettuce, tomato, guacamole, black olives, green onion or whatever else floats your boat.
  • Drizzle with the crema on top.
