A Keto lifestyle does not mean you have to give up the foods you love. You do have to be willing to be creative to find delicious workarounds, though. I have found suitable replacements for some recipe components, such as chopped sliced almonds in place of breadcrumbs or I make my own Keto breadcrumbs from Keto bread. I replace corn with finely diced yellow squash. Almond flour replaces all-purpose flour nicely. The list goes on. Replacing tostada shells is an easy fix. Tostada shells are crispy corn tortillas; you buy them that way at the grocery store. Using a low-carb tortilla in place of a tostada shell has a different flavor, but the same result when crisped in the oven. The result is a crispy alternative to the tostada shell. When you are cooking, think of ways to replace a non-Keto or non-low-carb friendly food instead of eliminating recipes that you enjoy. You will be glad you did.
