Onion and Provolone Burgers

- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 tsp. dried basil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 3 lbs. ground beef
- 8 Keto hamburger buns
- Lettuce
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 4 oz. baby bella mushrooms, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 onion, sliced
- 8 provolone slices
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, basil, garlic, salt and pepper. Mix well until thoroughly combined.
Shape into patties and chill while the other ingredients are prepared.
Toast the hamburger buns; then, set them aside.
In a skillet, melt the butter.
Add the sliced onion and mushrooms.
Season with salt and pepper. Cook until onions are caramelized and mushrooms are soft. Remove and keep warm.
In the same skillet, fry the hamburger patties until they reach the desired doneness.
Place a slice of cheese on each patty and turn the heat to low.
