Roasted Green Beans with Pecans and Almonds

Green beans acquire a nutty flavor when roasted. Since they already have a nutty flavor, wny not add more nuts?

  • 1 baking sheet

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs. fresh green beans, trimmed
  • Extra virgin olive oil for drizzling
  • A good amount of salt and pepper
  • 1/2 cup sliced or slivered almond
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
  • Spread the trimmed green beans on a sheet pan. Toss generously with olive oil, salt and pepper.
  • Roast the green beans in the oven for 15 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle generously with the sliced almonds and pecans over the green beans. Toss to combine.
  • Place the beans back in the oven and roast until the almonds are golden, about another 8 minutes.
