Spicy turkey Lettuce Wraps

Keto-friendly lettuce wraps contain a spicy mixture of turkey and Asian flavors. The crispy lettuce is perfect for this low calorie meal with less fat.

  • Measuring spoons
  • 1 measuring cup
  • 1 knife
  • 1 Small bowl
  • 1 small spoon
  • 1 skillet

Ingredients
  

  • 2 limes juiced
  • 1/8 tsp. cayenne
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar Swerve
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • Sriracha sauce
  • 1-1/2 lb. ground turkey
  • 1 Tbsp. sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup celery chopped
  • 1/4 cup onion chopped
  • 1/4 cup green onion garnish
  • 1-1/2 cups cucumber diced
  • 1/4 cup cilantro garnish
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 red pepper chopped
  • 1/4 cup carrot shredded
  • 1 can sliced water chestnuts

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, combine lime juice, cayenne, black pepper, brown sugar Swerve, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and Sriracha sauce. Set aside.
  • Cook the ground turkey and celery in sesame oil for 5 minutes until the turkey is cooked.
  • Stir in the remaining soy sauce, ginger paste, onion, garlic and red pepper.
  • Cook until the onions and peppers have softened a little about 3 minutes.
  • Add the carrots and water chestnuts.
  • Cook and stir until the liquid is absorbed.
  • To serve the lettuce wraps, peel the outer layer of a head of iceberg lettuce one layer at a time. The lettuce cups will get smaller as you peel away the lettuce leaves.
  • Fill the lettuce cups with the hot turkey mixture and top them with the remaining ingredients to garnish.
