Soak the tilapia filets in milk for at least 30 minutes. The milk neutralizes any fishy odor or smell.
Drain and rinse well.
Transfer the fish to a casserole dish.
Drizzle the lemon juice over the filets and sprinkle with salt.
In a saucepan, heat the marinara sauce.
In a shallow dish or pie plate, combine the Parmesan, basil, seafood seasoning and pepper.
Mix well.
In a separate dish or pie plate, combine the mayonnaise and hot sauce.
Melt the butter in a skillet with some olive oil.
Meanwhile, coat the filets in the mayonnaise mixture, then dredge it in the Parmesan mixture.
Fry the filets in the oil until crispy.
Remove to a baking sheet and top with marinara sauce and cheese.
Place under the broiler in the oven until cheese is melted about 3 minutes. Keep an eye on them so that the cheese does not burn.
Serve with green onions as a garnish.
