Buttery Yellow Squash with Onions
Tender slices of yellow squash cook with onions in a bit of butter, creating a soft, silky texture and a rich, savory flavor that pairs beautifully with just about anything: grilled meats, roasted chicken, or even a hearty Sunday dinner.

1 large skillet with lid
1 large spoon or spatula
- 2 large yellow squash sliced
- 1 large onion halved and sliced
- 1/2 stick of butter or 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tsp. seasoned salt
- 1 tsp. black pepper
- (Optional) Grated Parmesan cheese
Heat the butter in a skillet until melted and sizzling.
Add the onions and saute for about 3 minutes.
Add the sliced squash and stir.
Place a lid on the skillet and cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Sprinkle 1 tablespoon seasoned salt and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper over the top of the squash and onions.
Stir.
Sprinkle the remaining salt and pepper over the top and stir again.
Turn the heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
You can serve it or sprinkle the top with some grated Parmesan cheese.
