You’ll want to make this Margherita Pizza recipe again and again! Classic Pizza Margherita was first created in Naples, Italy, in honor of Queen Margherita of Savoy. It’s a simple, beautiful combination of fresh tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and fragrant basil that represents the colors of the Italian flag, red, white, and green.
Whether you prefer a traditional pizza crust, a Keto-friendly crust, or even a cauliflower crust, this recipe works with any base. Customize it your way and enjoy a slice of authentic Italian flavor right at home!
Ingredients
1 recipe Fathead Dough (or ingredients for the regular crust you prefer)
1 jar pizza sauce
1 red onion, chopped
3+ tsp. garlic, minced
A drizzle of balsamic vinegar
1 8-oz bag mozzarella cheese
Fresh basil leaves
Instructions
Prepare your pizza crust. Some pizza doughs require rising, so make sure to plan accordingly if you use that kind of crust. Fathead dough does not require a rise, so I am good to go as soon as it comes together.

Roll the dough out to fit a pizza pan. Grease the pizza pan to make it easier to press out the dough if needed.

Bake the crust in a 350-degree oven for 12-15 minutes. Pour the pizza sauce over the crust and spread it out with the back of a spoon.

Sprinkle the top with onions and garlic. Drizzle some balsamic vinegar over the top.

Place the sliced, fresh mozzarella cheese on top.

Place back in the oven until the cheese is melted and the pizza is hot. Place the fresh basil leaves over the top. The basil I purchased had huge leaves. They smelled soooooo good!
