The Best Baked Crabmeat Dip for Parties

Rate this post

Looking for the perfect dip for parties or holiday gatherings? My creamy crabmeat dip is always a crowd favorite, and it disappears almost as quickly as you can set it on the table. Rich, savory, and incredibly easy to make, it’s the kind of appetizer everyone loves.

You can use high-quality lump crabmeat for an extra-special version, but canned crab works just as well if you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option. Serve this dip hot with buttery Ritz crackers, and you’ll have a simple yet irresistible appetizer that’s guaranteed to be a hit.

3 cans canned crab or 16 oz. fresh lump meat crab

1 bar cream cheese, softened

4 green onions, sliced

2 Tbsp. white wine

2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp. Zatarains liquid crab boil

Pinch salt and pepper

If using canned crab, drain it in a colander. If using fresh crab, rinse in a colander and pick through it to remove any shells. Place the crab in a bowl and cover with milk. Soak for at least 30 minutes. Soaking seafood in milk reduces any fishy odors or taste.

Place all the ingredients in the bowl of a mixer. Mix until combined and smooth.

Spread the crab mixture in a greased casserole dish. I use a Corningware tart dish, but you can use any size baking dish.

Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees. You can serve the dip in the baking dish or transfer to a bowl. Serve with Ritz Crackers or similar buttery crackers.
