10 Favorite Keto/Low Carb Products Part I

Rate this post

Having lived in the Keto world for a while now. I’ve come to use quite a few Keto and low-carb products again and again. I have so many that I felt I needed to break up my original post into several parts. Below are some of my favorites and where to find them. Welcome to Part I.

Aldi Dinner Rolls

I LOVE THESE! I hope Aldi never stops making them. These are also somewhat seasonal items, but any kind of dinner roll is considered a seasonal item outside of Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. I went into the grocery store during the summer one time to get some dinner rolls for a special occasion and there was not a package of dinner rolls to be found. It wasn’t just one store either! It was all of them! These Keto-friendly dinner rolls show up at Aldi during the holidays and in the spring around Easter. They are $3.99 for a pack, so pick up a bunch to store in the freezer when you see them. I use them as a side dish to complement a nice meal, mini sandwiches and sliders galore. They are soft and fluffy. YUM!

Birchbender’s Maple Syrup Sweetened with Monk Fruit

Many times, I use Birchbender’s Maple Syrup when I need maple flavoring. It is good on Keto pancakes and waffles as well. It is a bit thin for syrup, but when it is the only way, it works. I can get this product at Sprouts. This syrup comes in plain maple, maple bourbon and maple vanilla flavors. Super yummy and only 1 net carb per serving. Other brands are good, but this one is a little less at $8.99/ bottle.

Miss Jones Cornbread Mix

I can find this mix all of the time at Sprout’s and sometimes at HEB. It is pricey at a little over $8/bag. I have to really want some cornbread to purchase this mix due to the price, but it is very good with a bowl of chili..

Lily’s Chocolate Bars, Chips, Candy and Baking Bars

Lily’s candy is sweetened with Stevia. I use this brand most of the time when baking. It has a really good flavor and the chocolate chips come in many different varieties: semi-sweet, milk, dark chocolate, butterscotch, white, pumpkin spice, mint, unicorn swirl and raspberry and white mixed. The specialty flavors I have only seen seasonally, but I snap them up when I see them. Most mainstream grocery stores carry the more popular flavors. Sprouts sometimes carry specialty flavors. These are pricey for at least $6.99/bag. I wait patiently for a sale when they may come down as low as $4.99/bag. Sprouts sometimes has them in their Clearance section for $1.99/bag. That is always a lucky day!

Lily’s candy comes in bars and peanut butter cups. The candy bars come in a multitude of flavors: Original dark chocolate, dark chocolate with almonds, creamy milk chocolate, salted almond and milk chocolate, crispy rice and dark chocolate, coconut dark chocolate, blood orange dark chocolate, sea salt dark chocolate, extra dark chocolate, salted caramel milk chocolate, chocolate hazelnut, cookies and cream white chocolate….and the varieties go on and on. I stock up on these when they go on sale for $2.99 or under. Most grocery stores carry these.

Baking bars come in dark chocolate, semi-sweet and white chocolate style bars. The bars are 4 ounces and come in packaging that is horizontal in perspective as opposed to vertical as are the candy bars, so you can tell the difference.

Other candy varieties are also good: peanut butter cups (my favorite), gummy bears, milk chocolate caramel popcorn, sour worms and dark and milk chocolate candy-coated pieces. The company continues to come out with new products that amaze me.

Can you tell I have a sweet tooth?

Nature’s Path Keto Cereal

When I started my Keto and Low-Carb lifestyle, I thought I would never have cereal again. I didn’t think I would miss it that much because I wasn’t much of a breakfast eater. Was I wrong about that! I eat breakfast more often now, which was probably the hardest habit to get into on this journey. I am more likely to grab something quick for breakfast. I saw Nature’s Path Keto Cereal in the Kroger clearance section. At $3.99, I thought it was a good deal for Keto cereal. Like any Keto product, it is pricey at regular price. I had tried other cereals with great success, and I liked some of them, but this one is wonderful. It was a happy accident.

Catalina Crunch Cereal

Finding a favorite Keto cereal took a while, but before Nature’s Path cereal came Catalina Crunch Cereal. I like this cereal because it comes in many different flavors as opposed to Nature’s Path that I have only found in one flavor. The Catalina Crunch comes in Cinnamon Toast, Dark Chocolate, Maple Waffle, Chocolate Banana, Fruity Flavor, Chocolate Peanut Butter and Mint Chocolate Chip. You can find the Cinnamon Toast flavor at both Costco and Sam’s in a large bag for a little over $8 at each store. I have found the Cinnamon Toast and maybe another flavor at some regular grocery stores. You can find all the varieties in smaller sizes at Sprouts and on Amazon. I have tried all the flavors, and I like them a whole lot. They remind me of Golden Grahams cereal and they have the potential in recipes such as my No Bake Cookies.

Swerve Granulated and Brown Sugar

Life would not be the same without Swerve. It comes in three varieties: granulated, brown and powdered. I mostly use brown and granular. I prefer another brand of sugar replacement for the powdered type. Swerve is made from Erythritol and measures the same as regular sugar. I use these for baking and cooking all the time. Most grocery stores sell Swerve products, but the best value is by purchasing through Amazon.

Keto Cake Mixes and Frosting

OK…I admit it. I have an out-of-control sweet tooth. The cravings are real, and for me, it has bee the hardest habit to tone down on my Keto/low-carb lifestyle. I had to learn moderation and provide myself with alternatives. I will pay what I have to pay for these Keto cake mixes. I can make cookies with them, pie crust, crumbles,, cobblers, coffee cakes and so much more. Sometimes the Chocolate cake mix is hard to find, but I can always add cocoa powder to the yellow cake mix to turn it into a chocolate cake. The frosting is amazing. I have been known to eat a couple of spoonfuls by itself if I am desperate. It’s OK. You can laugh at me. I don’t suggest that anyone follow my lead on that. The Duncan Hines Keto cake mix is around $5.99 per box. You can find it at most mainstream grocery stores. The stores carry other brands, but this one is my favorite so far. The Birch Benders Chocolate cake mix is hit or miss. If I see it, I grab it. The same goes for the frosting. The frosting comes in a vanilla flavor as well for about the same price as the cake mix. I wait for these to go on sale and then buy several. Also, check the store’s digital coupons to see if any digitals are available for these products.

Keto Granola

One of my favorite snacks is NuTrail Keto Nut Granola. It is full of different kinds of nuts and seeds. You can find different brands of Keto granola on grocery store shelves, but I only like THIS brand! This KETO brand puts out some good products that have a good flavor. If you are going to pay the price for a specialty item, it needs to taste good. This brand of granola comes in a variety of flavors: Birthday Cake, Blueberry Cinnamon, Chocolate, Cinnamon Pecan, Cacao, Vanilla Raspberry, Vanilla Blueberry, Vanilla Strawberry and Honey Nut. So far, my favorite is the Birthday Cake and Blueberry Cinnamon. I will eat it plain, with some milk, like cereal, or with a dollop of vanilla-flavored yogurt and frozen blueberries. I love this stuff. You can find the Blueberry Cinnamon in a 22 oz. bag for $11.99. Sam’s has the same size bag in one type, but they usually mix up the flavor that they carry. Occasionally, Sam’s places this on clearance for $3.99/bag. If you find that deal, grab a bunch because it is your lucky day. You can also purchase through Amazon to receive this item in bulk.

Truwhip Whipped Topping

Only 1 net carb per serving for this frozen whipped topping to top fruit, desserts and many other Keto treats. I can find this at a variety of stores, even Aldi, for anywhere between $2.50-$4.50 per carton. HEB has the best value at the lower end of this range. I like this whipped topping a lot better than Cool Whip.
