The Best Bloody Mary Recipe with a Pickled Quail Egg Garnish

Rate this post

Few cocktails have earned legendary status quite like the Bloody Mary. Known for its bold, savory flavor and endless garnish possibilities, this classic brunch cocktail has become a favorite for weekend gatherings, holiday brunches, and celebratory mornings alike. While a crisp celery stalk is the traditional finishing touch, this version kicks it up a notch with a unique and flavorful garnish: Sterling Farms Pickled Quail Eggs.

This easy Bloody Mary starts with a quality prepared Bloody Mary mix, then gets an extra boost of flavor from a few simple ingredients that make it taste homemade. The result is a perfectly balanced cocktail that’s tangy, savory, and as mild or spicy as you like.

While Sterling Farms is best known for its premium Texas-raised meat subscription boxes, their online pantry is filled with specialty products that can elevate everyday recipes. Their Pickled Quail Eggs are one of my favorite pantry staples because they’re incredibly versatile. Add them to charcuterie boards, salads, appetizers, or enjoy them straight from the jar as a protein-packed snack. They also make an eye-catching and delicious Bloody Mary garnish that will have your guests asking where you found them.

Whether you’re hosting a leisurely weekend brunch, celebrating the holidays, or simply enjoying a relaxing afternoon, this Bloody Mary is a crowd-pleasing cocktail that’s easy to customize with your favorite garnishes and just the right amount of spice.

1-1/2 ups Zing Zang Bloody Mary Mix

1 oz. lemon juice

2 dashes Tabaso hot sauce (optional)

2 dashes Worcestershire sauce

1 pinch black pepper

1 pinch smoked paprika

1 pinch garlic salt

1 dash soy sauce

2 Sterling Farms Quail Eggs

1 slice bacon, cooked but flexible, cut into 2 inch pieces

1 leafy celery rib, trimmed at the bottom

Tajin seasoning

In a shaker combine the Zing Zang Bloody Mary base, lemon juice, optional Tabasco (you can decrease the amount to 1 dash or eliminate completely), Worcestershire, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic salt and soy sauce. Shake until well combined. Pour into a large, tall glass over crushed ice.

In a small plate or bowl, pour in the Tajin seasoning. Roll the quail eggs and the bacon piece in the seasoning until well coated.

Place the celery rib in the glass. Skewer the bacon chunk between 2 quail eggs on a long skewer.
