I do most of my grocery shopping on a monthly basis. I purchase fresh items on a weekly basis. I order my groceries from 3 different stores and pick it up. This saves me time and money because I can pick up all my groceries in an hour’s time, and I do not spend extra money purchasing impulse items. I may fill in as needed if I am near a store that does not have a pick up service while I am out running errands . This is what works for me and seems realistic for my family lifestyle. If you haven’t seen how I plan meals and prepare for a once a month grocery haul, you can see that here.
I am fascinated by what people buy at the grocery store, and I like to try new products, so my grocery hauls are more focused on products than prices. Prices are relative to the area in which one lives, so a person in Texas may have a lower price on a product than someone in New York. If I display a price on a product, it is most likely because I got a killer deal on it, and it made me happy. Happy is good!

HEB
Anyone in Texas knows HEB. HEB is a Texas grocery store chain. I think their prices are fairly high, but you can find some really good products there that are made right here in Texas; plus, they sell the usual mainstream brands. They have high-quality meat and produce for a grocery store and carry hard-to-find items that you can’t get anywhere else. I did not have enough for a pickup order this month, so I went inside. I only needed a few things. They have a well-stocked bulk area that has been closed since Covid began. I was pleased to see that it was open again! If you have a store that sells spices in bulk, this is so much cheaper than buying a jar of it. The price per pound may sound like a lot, but you will take so little of it home with you, that the price is astronomically cheaper.
