With Summer in full swing, I wanted to make a pretty wreath to brighten up my craft space. Use my wreath as inspiration to make your own wreath with craft items you have on hand. The Dollar Tree has interesting-shaped wreath forms for only $1.25 that work well for any type of wreath. My favorite wreath form is the large round form, but this time, I used a wagon wheel-style wreath form.
Supplies
1 round wreath base with spokes (found at Dollar Tree
Floral stems
Hot glue
E6000 glue
Spray paint is recommended for this project
Greenery stems
Hot glue gun
Instructions
Select the color to paint the wreath base. It comes in black, so if you want it black, paint is not needed. I suggest taking it outside to spray paint it. Acrylic paint does not adhere to the metal as well as spray paint. I learned that the hard way. I chose a pretty butter yellow for my wreath. Make sure the paint is completely dry before gluing on the floral stems.
Attach the floral stems and greenery using a combination of the E6000 and hot glue. I suggest determining a design for the florals before you begin gluing.
This is really an easy project that only takes a few minutes, but it will brighten any door or space. This is also a fun project for beginner crafters and crafting groups.
This is a really great idea, as you say, to brighten up an area. And I really like how your wreath is no symmetrical. It never occured to me that a wreath could be something other than just round. This is beautiful. Thanks for the idea!
