These pork chops are nice for any holiday—really, they are good for any day, I think. A simple rub gives the chops a wonderful, out-of-the-ordinary flavor. I like the versatility of the rub because it is also good on chicken. The simplicity of this recipe will make your family believe that you slaved all day in the kitchen. Shhhhhhh—don’t tell anyone that this is the easiest recipe ever! Let them think you are wonderful!
Ingredients
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 Tbsp. pepper
1 Tbsp. allspice
1 Tbsp. salt
1 Tbsp. Swerve brown sugar
3 Tbsp. fresh rosemary, chopped fine
2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
4 center-cut pork chops
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 packet Garlic herb seasoning blend
1 tsp. orange zest
Fresh rosemary sprigs
Instructions
In a food processor, pulse the garlic, pepper, garlic herb seasoning, allspice, salt, orange zest, brown sugar, 3 tablespoons of rosemary and 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil.
Rub the paste over the pork chops or chicken. Let the meat stand at room temperature for 30 minutes or cover and place in the refrigerator overnight.
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Place the chops on a baking sheet and brush the tops of the meat with extra virgin olive oil. Place the rosemary sprigs on top of the meat.
Bake for 20 minutes or until the pork chops are 140 degrees. If you are making chicken, the chicken should be 165 degrees. Remove the rosemary and serve.
