Formula for a Salad

Rate this post

Salads are a no-brainer for me. I don’t post many salad recipes unless it is a “special” salad that goes outside of the formula I usually use. We eat a lot of salads around here as a side dish alongside a meal or for lunch. This way, I can use the bits and pieces of what I have on hand to have a different salad every night. The basic formula I use is:

Lettuce + vegetables/fruit (as many or few as you want) + nuts + cheese + dressing

Explore some of the many combinations below:

Basic – Spring mix + Cucumber + Grape Tomatoes + Pistachios + Mini Mozza Balls + French Dressing

Italian – Romaine Lettuce + Roma Tomato + Sliced Almonds + Green Olives + Parmesan shreds + Italian Dressing

Greek – Romaine Lettuce + Grape Tomato + Cucumber + Red Onion + Walnuts + Feta + Black Olives + Chopped Pepperoncini + Greek Vinaigrette

Middle Eastern – Mixed Greens + Fresh Mint + Cherry Tomato + Beets + Slivered Almonds + Feta Cheese + Pomegranate Seeds + Yellow Bell Pepper + Pomegranate Vinagrette

Mexican – Iceberg Lettuce + Roma Tomato + Avocado + Pepitas + Cheddar Cheese + Black Olives + Salsa Ranch Dressing

Bulgarian – Mixed Salad Greens + Feta + Onion + Mushroom + Red Ppper + Green Pepper + Sliced Tomato + Cucumber + Vinaigrette

Asian – Cabbage Mix + Water Chestnuts + Bamboo Shoots + Baby Corn + Shallots + Green Onion + Radish + Sesame Ginger Dressing
