GROCERIES!! What is it about new groceries that makes people happy? Is it the thrill of buying new things on a regular basis or is it the prospect of the creations that can come from simple ingredients? Maybe it’s just a chance to get out of the house! Sometimes trying a new product found on the shelves will yield a new family favorite/obsession/addiction.
For the last several years, I have taken advantage of grocery pickup services offered by grocery stores. I think it is the best thing ever, especially for busy working families. I could order my groceries from 3 stores, pick them up the next day and be back home in an hour. It was amazing!
When everything locked down last year, I couldn’t get a reservation for a pickup time to save my life. I had to schedule it at least 2 weeks out. I don’t know about you, but I don’t plan that far ahead of time. I was forced to go inside the store for my immediate needs. I found out that I had missed walking the aisles, but had not missed the all-day event of grocery shopping. My favorite aisle in the grocery store is the bread aisle because it smells like cinnamon and baked bread. Is anyone else like that?
As everything kind of smoothed out, stores began to offer more reservation times for the pickup services and I once again was able to pick up my groceries within 24 hours and not spend all day doing it. For some reason, I was not able to do that in April 2021. No reservations were available at the times that I needed the groceries, so I went shopping. It took me all afternoon, but that’s OK. It was good exercise, right? I got a good fix of the bread aisle aroma this time.
After trudging around the stores, I now have to put all this stuff away. I need some motivation! This is my motivation:
