Summer is just around the corner, and you know what that means—barbecues, backyard get-togethers, and good times with friends. While burgers, brisket, and grilled favorites often take center stage, let’s be real: sometimes it’s the sides that steal the show. These classic baked beans are one of those unforgettable dishes—rich, savory, and just the right amount of sweet.
Want to cut back on sugar? You can absolutely swap in Swerve brown sugar for a sugar-free twist, but if you’re not strictly keto (and let’s be honest, beans aren’t exactly keto-friendly anyway), this might be the perfect time to go all in and use regular brown sugar. Because sometimes, living life to the fullest means grabbing a second helping of baked beans—and loving every bite.
Ingredients
3 15-0z cans pork and beans (you can also use vegetarian beans if you can find them)
1/3 cup Swerve brown sugar (or regular brown sugar)
1 onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1/4 cup ketchup (use your favorite)
6 strips bacon
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Drain some of the liquid off the beans. In a rectangular baking dish, pour out the pork and beans from the can. Add the onion and green bell pepper. Stir to combine.

Add the ketchup and brown sugar. Stir thoroughly until incorporated well.

Place strips of bacon across the top of the beans.

Bake in the oven for 30 minutes. The beans should be bubbly and piping hot. These are so good that I could make a meal of this all by itself.
