Think of Tuna Salad but with no tuna. Tuna is something you will never see on my website. Gasp! Oh, the travesty! Neither my husband nor I like it so tuna never appears in my house in any form. We do, however, like all other forms of seafood. This Seafood Salad uses some of the same ingredients as Tuna Salad, but it contains a variety of seafood. Try it! You may not want to have regular old tuna salad ever again.
Ingredients
1 red onion, chopped
1/4 cup dill pickle relish
1 lb. cooked shrimp, peeled, deveined and chopped
1/2 lb crab flakes, fresh or canned
1 lb. flounder, cooked and chopped
1 tsp. extra virgin olive oil
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 celery ribs, chopped
1 tsp. Old Bay Seasoning, plus more to sprinkle on top
Instructions
Soak all the fish in milk for about 30 minutes to eliminate any fishy odor. Rinse and drain well.
In a medium bowl, combine all the seafood, red onion, and celery. Toss.
In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, olive oil, salt, pepper, pickle relish and Old Bay seasoning. Mix until combined and smooth.
Pour the dressing over the seafood and mix to combine well.
Serve in a pretty dish on top of some greens or place a scoop of the salad on a bun to have as a sandwich. Drizzle some more of the dressing on top.
