Coating the cauliflower pieces gives this delicious Keto side dish or appetizer a tangy flavor. Fry these up as an appetizer with additional Caesar dressing as a dip, or serve as a side dish to accompany burgers or steak. Cauliflower is a wonderful vegetable because it can be prepared in many ways. I think this is my newest favorite way to eat cauliflower!
Ingredient
Oil for frying
5 eggs, slightly beaten
2/3 cup cornstarch or Carbquick
1-1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. pepper
Caesar salad dressing
1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes
2 lemons, zested
1 large cauliflower, cut in florets
Instructions
Combine the cornstarch or Carbquick with red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper in a pie plate. Mix the Caesar salad dressing and zest of two lemons on another pie plate. In a third pie plate, add the beaten eggs.
Heat the oil until very hot for frying.
Working in batches, dip some of the florets in the egg. Then, toss them in the cornstarch or Carbquick mixture. Dip the cauliflower in the Caesar dressing; then, dip in the cornstarch cauliflower mixture again.
Drop the cauliflower gently into the hot oil, being careful not to crowd them, and fry until golden. Try not to touch them until one side is golden. After that, flip them gently using a skewer or fork.
Remove the cauliflower to a wire rack. Sprinkle with salt to your taste. Keep warm in the oven until serving.
