Homemade French Onion Dip

Homemade French Onion Dip takes this classic party favorite to a new level. Unlike the store-bought version, this dip is packed with deep, rich flavor thanks to freshly caramelized onions. The slow-cooked onions add a sweet and savory depth, making this dip irresistible. It’s perfect with crunchy chips for an indulgent snack or paired with fresh, sweet bell peppers for a lighter, healthier option. Once you try it homemade, you’ll never return to the tub again!

1-1/2 cups onion, chopped

2 Tbsp. butter

1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil

1/2 tsp sea salt

1/4.tsp. pepper

1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper

1 cup sour cream

1/2 block cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup mayo

1/2 tsp. garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/2 Tbsp. parsley

1 tsp. dried minced onion

Saute chopped onion in butter and EVOO until soft.

Add salt, pepper and cayenne pepper.

Reduce the heat and cook for 20 minutes, stirring often, until the onions are caramelized. Set aside and cool.

Mix sour cream, softened cream cheese and mayonnaise in a food processor. Process until smooth and creamy.

Add garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, and minced onion. Process until combined.

Transfer the sour cream mixture to a bowl and fold in the caramelized onion.

Chill until serving. Serve with salty potato chips, crackers, or vegetables as dippers. THIS IS AN AMAZING DIP!
