Beer Brats

Rate this post

I used beef brats for this tasty meal. These brats can be made ahead of time or meal prepped, which is actually a good idea as the brats will soak up more flavor as they marinate. These Beer Brats go down as one of my quick and easy meals on a weeknight and would be great for tailgating. Perfect for Fall!

Ingredients

1 package of brats

2 onions, sliced

2 bottles beer any variety

Sandwich rolls

Instructions

In a large food storage container, combine the brats, onions, and beer. I used Next beer by Budweiser which is a low-carb beer. Cover and marinate overnight.

When the brats have marinated, remove the brats from the container, reserving the onions and liquid for now, and place them in a skillet. Alternatively, you could grill them. Cook on all sides Remove the brats from the pan and set aside.

Strain the onions from the marinade with a slotted spoon. Add a drizzle of olive oil to the pan. Place the onions in the same pan where the brats were cooked. Saute until a little bit browned.

In a separate pan, melt some butter until it just starts to sizzle. Place the sandwich rolls inside down and brown in the butter until crispy and slightly toasted.

Serve the brats and onions on the hot toasty sandwich rolls.

Beer Brats

Brats are marinated in beer overnight and grilled or fried to sear in the flavor. This recipe only requires a few ingredients to keep it low-carb. All you need to finish it off is some caramelized onions on top and some toasty buns.
