The weekend is the best time for happy hour! It’s a celebration of the end of a work week and sometimes, it may be the only thing that can get you through the week to come. Give yourself something to look forward to; by making yourself a margarita and leave your worries behind for an afternoon!
You don’t have to make a whole pitcher of margaritas in order to enjoy one. You CAN make a margarita by the glass for one person to enjoy. You can serve this recipe on the rocks as shown here or frozen. If you want to serve it frozen, all you have to do is place the recipe ingredients in a blender with some ice and whir it up. The results of the recipe are enough for 2 glasses of margarita. Two glasses are still for one person, right?
Ingredients
4 oz. good tequila
2 oz. Triple Sec
2 oz. fresh lime juice
1 tsp simple syrup or 2 packets sweetener of your choice to taste
lime wedges
Salt (optional)
Instructions
To a shaker, add the tequila, Triple Sec and lime juice. Stir in the simple syrup or sweetener to taste. This depends on the tartness of your lime juice. Some limes are more tart than others. If you want to get really fancy, you can moisten the rim of your glass with a lime and then coat the glass rim with salt. Usually, I am too anxious, aka lazy, to do rim the glass with salt, so I drink it without the salt. I like my margaritas made at home on the rocks, but when I go out, I prefer them frozen. Garnish with a lime wedge and a straw. CHEERS!!!
