Pizza Burger

This is like a pizza on a bun! I love fusion foods that take one idea and morphs that idea into something new and different. The whole family will love these burgers on a burger night…..and on pizza night!

Ingredients

1 lb. ground beef

1 lb. Italian sausage

2 Tbsp. Montreal steak seasoning

1 Tbsp. Italian seasoning

1/2 package pepperoni

Mozzarella slices

4 Tbsp. butter

1 package Keto hamburger buns or your favorite hamburger buns

1 cup pizza sauce

1 onion, sliced and sauteed

Instructions

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, Italian sausage, Montreal steak seasoning and Italian seasoning. Mix well.

Form into balls and press into patties. Fry or grill the burgers until the meat is at the desired temperature.

Place some slices of pepperoni on top of the burger.

Place a slice of mozzarella cheese over the top of the burgers. Cover the pan and allow the cheese to melt.

In the meantime, toast the buns and warm the pizza sauce.

To build the burger, place the patty on the toasted bun. Top with a spoonful of warmed pizza sauce, sauteed onion and other desired condiments or toppings that will complement the burger flavors, such as green peppers or sauteed mushrooms. You will be surprised how much this tastes like a pizza in burger form.

  • 1 knife
  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • An indoor or outdoor grill or skillet pan
